Embed streaming video/Films On Demand
Films on Demand is a streaming video database that includes more than 40,000 videos covering a wide range of topics. Many of the titles provide closed captioning and/or transcripts. If available, will appear beneath the video allowing you to turn on captioning. You can also use 'Advanced Search' to limit your search results to titles with closed captioning. Courses must have closed captioning or an exact text transcript posted with the video to comply with Section 508 requirements.
Accessing and Searching Films on Demand
To browse videos to use in your class, go to Films on Demand Links to an external site. accessible via the Library's Online Catalog Links to an external site. Links to an external site.. Click on a video to view the detailed record for that video. Choose 'Share' and 'Embed/Link' to display the URL and Embed Code; URLs are generally copied into Canvas/Rich Content Editor, embed codes to HTML Editor. If the video is broken into segments, you are able to link to/embed the full video or individual segments. Note: If a student is prompted to sign in, they are to enter their myCF credentials. Only students enrolled in the current semester will have access to these videos.
If you know the video you wish to add, there is a short cut! A Films on Demand API tool is located in the Rich Content Editor toolbar at any Canvas page [click on and then select
Films On Demand]. Search by title, keyword, or phrase, and filter your search using the 'Filter By:' options at the top of the search page. From here you can preview the video, and/or embed the URL or the video itself.
