Spirit of Inquiry involves asking questions, particularly "why" questions and not settling for "this is the way we have always done things. Inquiring minds lead to great discoveries and practice changes. It is important to never stop learning/inquiring and recognize that evidence can change overtime. The Spirit of Inquiry is what led many of us on this nursing journey and what will carry us on our next one. Formulating questions, reviewing the evidence and executing change all stem from inquiring minds. One should never "hush" an idea because it may not have been thought of before, or others may not have been brave enough to ask. When the right questions are posed to the right people, and evidence supports their validity, change is more likely to occur, which can better our workplaces, our personal growth and our patient outcomes.
